Position Description:
We’re seeking a DevOps Engineer to own our cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and site reliability. You’ll architect AWS environments, automate everything with Terraform and Ansible, and ensure our services maintain 99.99% uptime. Our stack is heavily automated: Terraform for IaC, GitHub Actions for CI/CD, Kubernetes for orchestration, and extensive monitoring with Datadog. You’ll build the platform that enables our engineering teams to ship fast and confidently.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement AWS infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK
- Manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS) with GitOps using ArgoCD or Flux
- Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI for automated deployments
- Implement observability: logging (ELK), metrics (Prometheus/CloudWatch), tracing (Jaeger/X-Ray)
- Automate provisioning, scaling, and disaster recovery across multi-region deployments
- Configure service mesh (Istio/Linkerd) for traffic management, security, and observability
- Manage secrets with HashiCorp Vault or AWS Secrets Manager; implement security best practices
- Conduct incident response, write postmortems, and drive reliability improvements
- Optimize cloud costs through rightsizing, reserved instances, and spot instances
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of DevOps/SRE experience with AWS or GCP in production environments
- Strong Linux systems knowledge; troubleshooting from kernel to application layer
- Expertise with container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration patterns
- Infrastructure-as-Code proficiency: Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation, or Pulumi
- Scripting skills: Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tooling
- Experience with configuration management: Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Deep understanding of networking: VPC, load balancers, DNS, TLS, and service discovery
- Security mindset: IAM policies, VPC peering, WAF, and compliance (SOC2, HIPAA)
- Bachelor’s in CS/IT or equivalent; AWS/GCP professional certification is a plus
